Someone said he’s a Dabbler. [Randy J.] And I suppose it is true. A lot of interests. A lot of things I’d like to try my hand at. And so I have. Will I become expert at any one of them? Well that isn’t my aim. I only want to be an expert at being Me.
You won’t see everything posted here, as there is just too much going on. I have an interest in knots, having perused my Uncle Ray’s “Ashley Book of Knots” as a young child. Of course that let to my grandmother Kunigunda showing me how to knit. I did knit a pair of mittens way back when. Knit and purl, just more knots really.
I also have an interest in Origami. When we were kids, my mom got us an Origami kit for Christmas one year. That was fun and the most complicated item, the last in the book was a “flapping bird”. It is a little more complicated than the simple crane. Since then I have acquired several books on the subject, including one devoted entirely to heart shaped items.
And there is a list of things I have yet to try. Blacksmithing. Pottery/Ceramics. Writing that Novel. Lutherie. Learning a foreign language…
