Arrowhead Hunting

Finding hand made stone artifacts is an exciting hobby. They say, most of these artifacts are more than 400 years old because metal arrowheads became available once white man came to the Americas. Actually most are probably 1000s of years old.

I found my first piece while tilling the garden when I lived in Marshfield WI. Later I found a thumb scraper along the side of the road while walking around our Heartwood home. In 2019, I visited my step father-in-law Dale Olson’s family ranch near Richey, MT known for past native American encampments. In the short week there I found a partial arrowhead and a complete arrowhead made from Knife River flint.
