I just created an instance of XAMPP and installed a local instance of WordPress on my computer. Actually on a USB flash drive. It was fun learning how to do this and now I have a place to begin my writings. XAMPP is a local instance of Apache server, MySQL Database and PHP, which are utilized by WordPress This is on my Windows 10 pc. Once I learn more about WordPress, a simple content management system, I can create my own domain and have my own site. [ updated: danbrandner.com went live 5/3/21]
